Kutaisi is an attractive place for small and medium business development. The local self government owns a strategic development plan and several programs for that.

There is a business support council at the self government. This council, which is lead by the Mayor of Kutaisi – Mr. Giorgi Tevdoradze, is oriented on supporting and stimulating entrepreneurship. Besides, the above mentioned council is considered as one of the deliberative unit of the local self government.
Current year, there is the program of business development and investment support on. The main purpose of the program is to promote investment environment and stimulate the international economical activities. Besides, there were a number of exhibition stands made in Kutaisi and a lot of products of Kutaisi origin are presented to the foreign partners.

The main priorities of the above mentioned program is to demonstrate economic potential to the Kutaisi Sister Cities.

This program is considered as one year action plan, which is annually worked out by Kutaisi City Hall Economic Service. According to this program the local self government is focusing not only on business support but also on creation of employment opportunities for local citizens.
